Action Priest
A collection of my work from Action Priest. While I cannot show most of the levels, we'd like to keep a lot of that under wraps for now, I will showcase most of what I can.
Action Priest is an over the top retro inspired shooter about a lineage of priests that fight demons. It's a little bit ridiculous with the tone of an 80s Action Hero movie.
Art Style: A combination of stylised assets alongside ps1 inspired enemies and effects.
The original demo had the demons made from pixel art vs the priest and environment that were modelled in 3D. This was originally done as a way to work around animation. I suggested incorporating it in to the full game, as though the demons really do come from another dimension, and the it is a fun idea. The idea of the demon's dimension bleeding out in to areas of the environment and the effects of that is an interesting concept to work with too. The current style is PS1 demons alongside a slightly more modern look with retro stylings. So keeping an eye, guiding the art style and coming up with interesting solutions or techniques has been a big part of my work on this one.

Concept Art, Paint Overs & Experiments
Concept art, paint overs and other forms of prototyping and experimentation.
To the right are some paint overs I did of a block out I made for the London Bridge level. This level is part of a vertical slice/demo we are making and so I feel comfortable showing a lot more of this zone.
The team worked together and drew up a map and then I proceeded to block out the level. Once done I drew up these to convey what we could go for. The team liked the way these looked and so here they are.
Me and another artist on the team did a deep dive in to some 1600s-1700s architecture since we like history. Before the great fire of London the bridge used to house multiple buildings, infect was over packed, and the concept of turning this in to a level had everyone excited and I think it would make for a great level for the vertical slice.
